Right, I want a small, quiet box with all of the hookups ready to roll. I don't mind a manual setup, but I really don't have the time to undertake the project of searching for the best individual components to build it myself.

Like I said, small+quiet are important, and that'll be much harder to achieve on my own.

I guess my main concern with going the MythTV route is noise/size/style. The AppleTV is both tiny and super quiet. It also comes with a cute little remote that's pretty accessible and no-frills. Also, I'd build one myself, but I really don't think I'll have time. Do you know of any decent all-in-one solutions that I can check out?

- any file type
- DVRness
- as big of a hard drive as you want
- full OS or server apps
